  • Overview

    The objective of this position is to generate sales of Amstar DMC Leisure products within designated sales territories.  Key responsibilities include establishing partner relationship with Travel Agency consortia, key accounts through the implementation of a sales and marketing plan. Territory includes CA, OR, WA, NV, UT, ID, MT, and WY 

    Responsibilities

    • Create and develop a business plan in accordance with the company objectives, goals, commercial terms, conditions and targets.
    • Promote and sell Amstar products and services to achieve pre-determined goals.
    • Produce and implement a sales and marketing plan making full use of electronic measures, technology, Web Sites and other media.
    • Contact, call on, manage and maintain business relationships with all travel agent/consortia accounts, operators, OTA or other distribution network.
    • Conduct, coordinate and attend industry events including educational seminars, tradeshows and presentations.
    • Organize, Coordinate and participate in Fam Trips or Site Inspections.
    • To educate train business partners
    • To create a weekly sales report, sales analysis and call planner.
    • To research, know, evaluate and report on competitor activity.
    • To report to management on market trends and make recommendations for product development and sales strategies.
    • Know and maintain a high level of knowledge of Amstar product and services including excursions, transfers, group, wedding and Luxury products as well as policies and procedures.
    • To travel as required and in accordance with the sales and marketing plan
    • To represent Amstar and act as company Liaison.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree preferred.
    • At least 5 years previous travel sales related work experience in a sales and marketing capacity. Ability to create sales and marketing plan
    • Proven track record of generating and increasing sales volume.
    • Proven knowledge and familiarity with retail, wholesale, online, operator and agency distribution channels as well as F.I.T. and group business.
    • Proven presentation skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Second language preferably Spanish and advantage.
    • Interpersonal skills.
    • Fluent English speaker.
    • Ability to work under pressure, efficiently and with minimum of supervision.
    • Must be well organized, detail oriented and prioritize workload efficiently.
    • Comfortable with both strategic and tactical plans and challenges.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Analytical, problem solver and trouble shooter.
    • Flexibility to travel is essential.
    • Own car owner and valid driving license.
    • Knowledge of destinations such as Mexico, Caribbean, and Hawaii.
    • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
    • Preferably, a knowledge of software tools and leading edge developments in reservation application. e.g. API’s.
